Route(s) to Summit: Being within the Telecoms compound, the South summit is off-limit to the public. You can only get to the guarded gate of the compound. This gate can be reached by taking the road that branches off from the Main Road at Simpang Hut.

History: According to [1], the South Summit had a Bungalow perched on it since at least 1878. Presumably, the bungalow was later replaced/built over in the 1950s with the construction of the radio masts which eventually became the Very High Frequency (VHF) radio transmission station and tower complex today.
