Samantha Fairchild
I am an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Eindhoven in the Netherlands.
Before that I was a W2 Research Group Leader (non-tenure-track associate professor), and a postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (MPI MiS). I received my PhD in mathematics from the University of Washington in June 2021, advised by Jayadev Athreya.

Mathematics is ultimately about problem solving, so through a mixture of lecturing and active learning techniques (such as worksheets and group work), I strive to help my students gain independence and confidence in their problem solving skills.
Mentoring undergraduate reading projects and research projects is one of my favorite ways to engage with students of math.
