Here are all of the errors on the Xbox 360.
Error: When the Xbox turns on, either Q4 (1 ring), Q1 and Q3 (2 rings), Q1, Q3 and Q4 (three rings) or all quadrants (4 rings) flashes red.
Trivia: When you get the 3-quadrant error, if you hold the console sync button and tap the disc eject button, the lights will change. You can extrapolate a number based on how many lights are flashing each time you press eject (up to four digits, before it goes back to the ring error).
Variants:
On the Xbox 360 S and E models, the power button utilizes a different design that does not incorporate the same style of lighting that past models used. Due to this, errors are indicated by a flashing or lit red light in the middle of the power button, dubbed the "Red Dot of Death" by some, depending on the error.
There was also another form of the RRoD where if the power cable was loose, the Xbox power button will display a flashing center light.
Technique: The quadrants blinking.
Avaliability: Seen if a hardware component fails (1 ring), when the console overheats (2 rings), more hardware components fail (3 rings), the AV cable isn't connected or due to a serious error (4 rings), or sometimes when the console is modified (S and E models).
Error: The Xbox 360 startup plays, then it cuts to a black screen with text reading "System Error. Contact Xbox Customer Support" in 11 languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Polish and Russian). Below is an error code and the Xbox Support URL.
Error Codes:
E 64: DVD drive failure.
E 68: Insufficient power.
E 69: TBA
E 70: TBA
E 74: Caused by a solder joint under the GPU or the video output chip becoming damaged, or loose.
E 82: Overheating.
Variants:
Early versions of these errors had an almost jet-black background with a hue of dark green.
A few error codes has the Polish and Russian texts are removed.
Technique: None.
Avaliability: Could happen anytime if there's something wrong with the Xbox 360, such as corrupted BIOS or dead/failed components.
Error: On a black/grey gradient background, a window has text reading: "Your Xbox 360 console is designed to automatically shut down to protect it from insufficient ventilation. Like other electronic devices, the Xbox 360 requires proper ventilation. To help prevent another automatic shutdown:". Below are the following texts:
Do not block any ventilation openings on the console or power supply.
Do not place the console or power supply on a bed, sofa, or other soft surface that may block ventilation openings.
Do not place the console or power supply in a confined space, such as a bookcase, rack, or stereo cabinet, unless the space is well ventilated.
Do not place the console or power supply near any heat sources, such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or amplifiers.
Variant: Depending on the language, this error may appear in different languages.
Technique: None.
Avaliability: Appears if the console is overheating, but there's a chance that the E 82 error code appears instead of this error.
