Spinal Precautions
Spinal Precautions
Spinal Precautions
- No lifting more than 10 lbs (Kerrigan & Saltzman, 2017)
- No bending of the neck or spine
- No twisting at the neck or spine
No guidelines exist for resuming sexual activity after spinal surgery (Thomas & Levene, 2019). Timelines for return to sexual activities vary greatly depending on the surgeon. In this case, the occupational therapist should collaborate with the surgeon to determine strategies for safe return to sexual activity.
