Nepali, Indian/Hindu, as well as other Southeast Asian Cultures were researched to design the customs, clothing, and traditions of the Jīvguǐatami.
The Jīvguǐatami (jeev-gweh-ah-tahm-ee) are spiritual creatures made of light living in the center of the Earth, predominately in cavernous cave systems and crystal coves. They lack mammary and reproductive organs and do not need to eat or sleep - as they are producers. They also lack gender and gender roles, although Jivs are free to express their gender identity. There are two main types of Jivs, one being the spirits that possess living animals (fauna) and the other that possess plant life (flora). Both species are birthed from the River of Souls and formed by the creator, Rajghāmtài (raj-game-teh).
With these designs and the cultural event I cultivated through research, I created a 4-page comic depicting the death and rebirth ceremony the Jiv perform, see on the Comics page.

In this project, the loose premise was that friends traveled on an old yacht for a vacation, and crash landed on an island with killer crocodiles and zombie-vikings, called Draugr and had to try and survive. I went in the game design direction, aiming for it to be a survival horror game, and based my designs for combat and utility.
We went through a process of concept sketches and tonal/color studies for the threats on the island (zombies and crocodiles) as well as the tools, weapons, interiors, and exteriors - featured in a final illustration (left).
