The Human Development Foundation-Mercy Centre is a community organization, based in the poorest communities of Bangkok, working in four core areas that include:

1. Education of slum children: 21 slum kindergartens in Bangkok; 1 special school for street children, and over 1,000 education sponsorships for the very poorest children of all ages.
2. Child Protection: Homes and shelters for 200 children; and a legal aid centre and citywide outreach program for street children.
3. Combating AIDS: A hospice; a home for mothers and children; home-based care in over 60 slum communities; and an education/outreach program throughout the city.
4. Community Services: Credit Unions, Micro-loans, Housing, and Outreach.
