Yaowawit is a government approved welfare boarding school that was opened in April 2006 initially for Tsunami victims. Today Yaowawit is a safe home and school for 111 children between 4 and 18 years from very poor and broken families. The schools aims to provide all children with the necessary life skills to break the cycle of poverty. A small lodge and a 70 Rai large farm offers the opportunity for the children to learn hospitality and farming. Guests, visitors and volunteers are always welcome and can be accommodated in the lodge.
Yaowawit belongs to the Children World Academy Foundation and aims to become self- sustainable within the next 5 years. Today the school still needs donations to be able to cover the ongoing cost.
