Your privacy is important. This extension was designed with a privacy-first philosophy and does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

1. Data Collection

• CustomMark does not collect any personal information from users.

• The extension does not collect, store, or process:

• Personal identifiable information (PII)

• Email addresses

• Account data

• Authentication or password data

• Financial or payment information

• Health information

• Location data

• Browser history

• User activity tracking

• Website content (other than what is needed to place annotation markers on Google Search Console charts)

• No analytics, tracking scripts, or telemetry are used.

2. Local Storage Only

The extension stores only annotation data created by the user (title, date, color) to provide the core functionality of the tool.

This data:

• Is stored locally in your browser using localStorage
  
  

• Never leaves your device
  
  

• Can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser’s site data or removing the extension
  
  

No information is ever uploaded to servers or shared externally.

3. Permissions

The extension uses only the minimal permissions required for its single purpose:

• activeTab – Allows the extension to interact with the currently opened Google Search Console page when the user clicks the extension popup.
  
  

• storage – Saves user-created annotations locally.
  
  

• scripting – Injects the content script needed to draw annotations on GSC charts.
  
  

• Host permission (https://search.google.com/*) – Required so the extension can operate only on Google Search Console pages.
  
  

These permissions do not grant access to personal data and are used strictly to display annotations on charts.

4. No Servers, No Cloud, No Third Parties

CustomMark:

• Does not send data to any server
  
  

• Does not use external APIs
  
  

• Does not use third-party libraries that transmit data
  
  

• Does not run remote code
  
  

All logic executes locally inside your browser.

5. Children’s Privacy

The extension does not target or collect data from children under 13.
Since no personal information is collected, it is inherently compliant with COPPA and other privacy regulations.

6. Changes to This Policy

If the privacy policy ever changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
