Throughout the whole event, we have brought up two different ways; one could be portrayed as; demonizing and humanizing, under the theme “Towards a global citizen”. We live in a world of diversity; thus, being aware and showing respect towards other groups of people should be taken into consideration. Some of us grow up experiencing various cultural, gender, and social aspects. Hence, learning how to gradually adapt to a completely different environment is what some of the guest speakers experience while living abroad.
Furthermore, we discussed what to consider and misconceptions when launching a start-up. Some mistakes we usually make before and during the process of applying for a scholarship were also added up. Plus, some of the scholars kindly answered questions regarding how they made it through the scholarship they obtained. However, we agree that failure to gain a place in a scholarship or to win a competition does not mean we lost them, but that we might need some time to learn more about what to do, or that the scholarship is not for us.
