Deagon station opened in 1882, when the line opened between Sandgate and Brisbane. The line was duplicated in December 1901. The line was electrified on 18 September 1982.
Deagon was named after the homonymous suburb of Deagon which was named after William Deagon, who was the mayor of the Town of Sandgate from 1882 to 1884. The Town of Sandgate amalgamated into the City of Brisbane on 1 October 1925.
Deagon station has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Platform 1 is for outbound services and platform 2 is for inbound services.
Deagon station has four station entrances. Two are on Albury Street, one is from the carpark and one is from Adams Street.
Deagon station does have disability access however assistance is required due to the steep ramp and level crossing.
