Boondall is located on the Shorncliffe Line and is served by all train services travelling from Shorncliffe to Roma Street with many continuing to Cleveland. Boondall is located 16.8 km from Roma Street and the approximate travel time is 33 minutes.

Boondall station was relocated to its current location in 1986 to serve the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. The original station is now North Boondall.
Boondall serves the homonymous suburb of Boondall which was named after the Aboriginal word for crooked creek.
Boondall station has two platforms consisting of two side platforms. Platform 1 is used for inbound services and platform 2 is used for outbound services.
Boondall station has two station entrance which is the carpark on Stanworth Road and Aberdeen Parade.
Boondall station does have disability access however assistance is required due to the steep ramp.
There is a bus stop outside the station on Aberdeen Parade serving nearby suburbs. The route that serves Boondall is route 325.
