  • Make sure all of your contributors are included

  • Choose a copyright license

  • You may upload a custom cover image here but it will only appear on the online book. If you would like a custom cover for the version printed at the bookstore, you will need to create a cover separately and then add it to the exported PDF using Adobe Acrobat DC.

Export a PDF or EPUB

You must export your book for students to be able to download a PDF copy. Otherwise they will only be able to read the book online.

You must also export your book in order for students to be able to print a bound copy at the bookstore (if applicable).

  1. Appearance -> Theme options -> PDF Options

    • Page size - US Letter (8.5" x 11")

    • Margins - 2cm

    • Uncheck enable hyphenation

    • If you are using footnotes, choose to either display footnotes as chapter endnotes or regular footnotes.

  2. Export -> choose at least PDF (for print), and PDF (for digital distribution). EPUB is also popular for eReaders. The Export Your Book to create the files, this make take a couple of minutes.
NOTE: whenever you edit your book you will need to generate new export files, changes are not automatic in the exported files. We recommend exporting as a last step after your book is completed.

  3. Settings -> Sharing and Privacy

    • Book visibility -> select Public

    • Share latest export files -> select Yes to make sure the files appear on the live site once they are exported

  4. If you would like the bookstore to have a record of your text for students to be able to print a bound copy, email the exported PDF file with your course code and section numbers to mwallace@follett.com
