H5P

H5P: Tools for Interactivity, Self-Assessment, Content Formatting

Pressbooks also has the H5P tool integrated, which means you can create a variety of interactive components, self-assessments, or uniquely formatted content right in your book.

44 options to choose from: interactive presentations, interactive videos, interactive documents, drag and drop, image hotspots, flash cards, etc.

Example of H5P in a Pressbook

You can see examples of content on the H5P website.

Each content type has a tutorial that takes you through the steps of creating your own.

H5P Accessibility

Not all content types in H5P are accessible yet. You can track the accessibility levels of each content type on the H5P website. They are working to make all types accessible.

The content you create in these formats must still be made accessible, for example alt tags, high contrasting colours, accessible fonts, etc.

Formats that are not accessible yet may still be used but you will have to create an alternative format if there is a request.
