When I was young Dad, Late Sekyonda Fred used to take me to a nursery school to learn how to write, read and sing. The school was in a village called Bbaale. We stay in a village called Luyobyo at the grandparents' place of residence. We could pass through the forest, then swamp as on my way to school with my father and my elder brother, Sekyonda George to go the nursery school to study. We were not staying with our mum because she had separated with my dad when the Dad lost the Job where he was working at a Depo shop for Sodas. They seperated due to dad could no longer manage to provide for the family and mum went for work by herself in Kampala and Dad because he had loved us as his children so moved with us two of us to the village in Luyobyo in Luwero District at the Grandparents home of our Dad.
When I and my brother George finished the lower level we were taken to Nandere Boys Primary School at the Catholic Parish. Still here we had to travel a longer distance everyday to go study in Primary One. The road was full of stones and used to travel on foot in plastic shoes and it was all hilly road to travel through the large long forest and moved in groups not to fear on our way to school and back home. I study the first year of primary and I was the last in the class and my brother George left me in Primary one. So then when I came to Kampala for holidays with my father to my Mother place in Bwaise, Ms. Nantale Grace, She asked me to stay with her and tell Dad that I would like to remain and study from Kampala where my mother was. Dad was upset to hear that I am remaining with mum to study from Kampala since He had loved me and my brother George, so He went back to the Village and remained with my brother George who was studying from the village. However, when holidays came I could go to the village to visit them with the grandmother and the cousins and aunts, and uncles. My Dad used to practice agriculture when he went to the village could grow cabbages and sugar canes and coffee in his plantations. However, he also made bricks of clay for as another source of income.
While at Kampala School, I joined again Primary One class for study, however the teachers were good and could teach me and other pupils well and so I was the fifth in the class in Term one of the that year 1994 from a School which was called Successive Primary School which was found in Bwaise, Kawempe Division by then, however it no longer exits currently. My mum could pay for my school fees and all the school requirements in time for me. I continued to study and finished Primary One and went to Primary two and I was the first or second now in the class now. I then joined primary three still at school and was performing much more better than when I was in the village in those old days.
When my mum shifted from Bwaise to Jinja - Kawempe, I had to change the school while in Primary four and so in 1998 my brother George also Dad proposed to mum that the village standard was poor so he joined me in Primary Four since I was more intelligent than him who was going to primary six while in the village and so had to repeat also primary four at Kawempe Muslim Primary School and now we were at the same level and I was performing better than him while class and so I used to help him where he felt needed some help. Our Dad could come to our home, which was our uncle's home, the brother to my mum and provided all that he could with in his means as God had enabled him.
Our Mum could to pay for both of our school fees while working and selling pineapples at Nakasero Market in Kampala. She could provide for the all family needs as well paying for our school fees in time and I and other brothers and sisters were never chased for school fees. My Dad passed away in 2002, while I had joined Senior One at Old Kampala Senior Secondary School, I was hurt but believed the best from God that he would take care and provide and enable our mum to do all He would enable her to take care of us as the family. I continued to study and my brother and the rest up to finishing Senior four and passed very well with 15 points with a first grade in 2005. And now joined again Old Kampala Senior Secondary School for A'Level untill 2007. Mum God enable her and she paid all the school fees and provided me with the school requirements and necessary textbooks and Question banks for the Combination of PCB/M that is Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics I was offering by then. I so studied so hard all the time such that I make it to be a Medical Doctor. I passed with 15 points in 2007 and I was not offered position at Makerere University in 2008, however, when I went to KIU, Kampala International University I was offered a Course to Study a Bachelor Degree in Medicine. What put me upset, the money was too much that my mum could not afford to provide it since then I had to travel and study from western Campus in Bushenyi since she was the only bread winner of the family by then.
So I had to advise means now to find a job to work and find money for my further study to degree level in any field of study of my wish and liking. I spent part of my vacation of senior six working at my uncle's computer shop managing young and youth who could come to study and play computer games in Jinja - Kalori. I work there and learnt to work even when you're not paid money but I could eat and drink without any thing lacking. When March reached when the UNEB results were back and released I now thought of looking for some other job opportunity to work and be in position to mark money for my further study. My second place of work was at the Maize mill in Bwaise at place former called Terace where they used to also make bakery and with a Petrol Station in Kawempe Division. I worked there for one night from 7:30pm and left there at 7:00am however, extremely so exalted and too much tired than I have ever worked anywhere else. I traveled on foot from Bwaise to all the to Kawempe where our home was and did not eat and even drink anything and just slept the whole day until the next morning and had to think of something else different to do because if I was to go back I would lose my life for the small pay which even I did not how much I had work for since we and I was not paid after the work on that day.
The next day, I traveled on foot to Kololo, where I found a company and I submitted my application but I was not grant the job opportunity to work with them, then sloped to Hotel Africana, however still I was not given the job there. I continued to walk on the road side of Jinja road and found a young man at Centenary park while working and operating a payphone for a Company called Twispo (u) Ltd which was company managed run by Multiples (U) Ltd at the same premises at Nakasero. So this young man, I talked to him that does his company still recruites workers and said so, he directed me to the offices and I was able to travel and locate the company offices and was able the following day to submit in my papers for the job. I was accepted by the lady at the reception and promised me the next day the job to start working. The salary was UGX 40,000 and no lunch and transport allowances, however, that did not stop me and I so it the opportunity to explore the heights and work more smart.
I talked to my mum and she was happy since I had found a place to start work, and talked to that there was an opportunity that one could pay UGX 100,000 and owns the payment and only will be paying UGX 20,000 for rent as a monthly fee. Mum went ahead and provided me with UGX 200,000 to pay off the phone and even to begin to start buying Airtime cards for also selling since the customers were available used to ask me for the airtime to load on their phones in April 2008. I also saw the business healthy and required more funds and so I talked to my Cousin Kigongo Fred and Aunt Nakayenga Olivia and they provided me a loan of 500,000/= which I was to pay back with some interest and so the business picked, and I worked more hard than usual from 7:00am to 9:00PM everyday such that I can be in position to pay for further University Studies. I continues to work hard and also now in July 2008 I had raised some good amount of money and now I was able to practice poultry family for about 500 broiler chicks and worked from Monday to Sunday , now from 7:00am to 11:00pm everyday such that the load had increased of work and I could sleep around 2:00pm and by 4:00am am awake in the farm. I did not make much money from this farming since I did it only once and so I concentrated on my Airtime business and operating payphone. I could also go over the steps of Old Taxi park and sell there airtime in the evening as well as vending it in the arcades buildings on weekends since at Social Security House where there are offices could not work on weekends while I used to study on working days.
I also sold some subusas early in the morning at Mabirizi plaza, before I could go for the airtime business, however all this was so tiresome and found that I had to concentrate on selling only airtime and operating pay phone. I continued to devote time to read self-help books on Sunday and work more smart in this business and was able to use some the tricks to make more money, books like Thick and Grow Rich, Guide to Investing, How to become a better Sales Person and many others helped to work better than I used to work in 2008. So by 2009 1st October, I was able to go back to KIU to enroll for another Course in Information Technology which I could do as well as working. Started studying in the evening from 5pm to 8pm, that is Monday to Friday. Since then I was working from 2008 to 2012 when the business came to a closure and I had saved enough money to enable me finish my degree Course in Information Technology. I spent almost 2013 not working and only concentrated at finishing my studies.
However, in 2013 November after lectures completion I joined Kampala Language Center and worked there as an Assistant Administrator. This Company could train individuals language training, Document translations as well as Conference Interpretation and I was able to learn the office management skills. I worked there 1 full year and 2 months and I joined Letshego Microfinance in Kololo for the 9 months and then joined Trinity High School to teach first Biology and Chemistry October to November 2015 and then did switch to ICT training in 2016, my field of expertise. How I have worked as well as studying Computer Networks (CCNA) at Makerere University in 2015 -2016 and Computer Graphics in 2016 and currently doing and yet done with Advanced Website Design and Development still at Makerere University in 2017.
