Hello everyone! My name is Sekai Chandra!

First and foremost, I love my family and friends, and I am always trying to learn something new. For example, I'm currently learning about the 14 eight-thousand-meter peaks in the Himalayas, which I'd love to see for myself one day. I strive to become a better person every day and make the world a better place by being kind to others and making weather data access more convenient.

I am currently a 3rd year undergraduate Atmospheric Sciences (EAS Department) undergraduate student at the Georgia Institute of Technology (THWG), where I have a 3.66/4.0 GPA. I am passionate about understanding the effects of climate change on life-threatening atmospheric phenomena, such as tropical cyclones, flooding, and tornadoes.

Currently, I am conducting research with Dr. Ali Sarhadi, where I use Python and MATLAB to analyze various types of meteorological data (netcdf and GRIB files) in an attempt to understand the relationship between climate change and deadly inland tropical cyclone-induced flooding. I also enjoy using Python to visualize various forms of weather data in my free time, as it's one of my biggest hobbies, and where the inspiration for this website came from.

I am also building a Discord Weather application (join THIS SERVER to use that application if you're interested!!!) that processes and plots several types of meteorological data from many sources. This includes model sounding plots (ERA5, MERRA2, NARR, HRRR, RAP, etc), satellite plots (Himawari, MTSAT-1R, GOES, etc), NEXRAD L2 and L3 radar imagery, and much more. I hope to put most of the commands from that bot onto this website eventually.

In addition to coding and weather analysis, I can also speak some Spanish (intermediate-fluent level) and Japanese (beginner-intermediate level), and can use various types of AI (I am a big fan of Anthropic's Claude and Google's Gemini currently). I work as a lifeguard at a YMCA, where I developed communication skills, learned to work with children, and am CPR/AED certified. I am also a competitive swimmer and enjoy watching professional swimming. Furthermore, I have experience with video editing and building virtual worlds with ROBLOX Studio.

Thank you for using my website, and I hope that you found the weather plotters and other datasets useful!

I am always open to feedback and value constructive criticism a lot. If you have an idea or suggestion, please message me on Twitter!
