In Hyperthermal Sarcomeric Oscillations (HSOs), warmed cardiomyocytes keep a beat-scale rhythm while neighbouring sarcomeres rapidly rearrange their phase relations.
This preprint extracts that local coordination from a five-sarcomere segment. The four neighbouring-pair relations are encoded as a compact four-qubit, 16-state local-topology space.
Version 2 runs this HSO local state space repeatedly on IBM quantum hardware. The readouts track pattern persistence, one-pair reconfiguration, anti-phase-rich occupancy, mismatch placement, and the topology-derived synchrony index S_topo. The locked control_base lane provides a stable hardware anchor, and 4096-shot candidate panels compare multiple kernel regimes.
The central message is that HSO-like coordination can be expressed as constrained local rephasing dominated by one-neighbour-pair updates. The study presents a compact, hardware-aware physiological testbed for connecting living-cell sarcomere coordination with real quantum-device execution.
What to look for
A five-sarcomere local topology is converted into a four-qubit executable surrogate. IBM hardware readouts preserve the HSO-linked local topology in a repeatable way. Candidate-kernel comparisons clarify the balance between local reconfiguration and structure preservation.
