CCSD Canvas Template Overview

What is the Canvas Template?

The CCSD Canvas Base Template is designed to give Teachers a starting place in their PowerSchool-created courses. Based on feedback from Teachers, staring at an empty course shell can feel overwhelming for some people. With a Template, everyone has an optional place to start.

You'll find a lot of information walking you through how to use it (or delete it) by watching the video (on the homepage) and then by clicking Modules and opening the overview.

How does it get into my courses?

When a new course is created from PowerSchool, it will automatically have the template applied to it. Additionally, you can pull the template into courses you manually create from Canvas Commons (see below).

Do I have to use it? Can I delete it?

You do not have to use the resources, you absolutely can delete them and choose not to use them.

Is it in Canvas Commons?

Yes, it is. It's available as a whole course and as individual modules. You can find it by going to Canvas Commons and searching for CCSD Course Template.

Can I still import existing content from other courses I've used?

Yes, you can! You can bring in all of your course content from previous years, semesters, and/or shared from other Teachers.
