While her primary area of research is Comparative Politics, particularly focused on political parties, party systems, political regimes, and democratization, she also has expertise in Area Studies (specifically the Middle East and North Africa, and Southern Europe), International Relations and politics and technology. Over the past nine years, she has taught at various prestigious universities, including University of Essex, Bilkent University, TED University, and Hacettepe University.
