Climbing Whitby's famous Abbey Steps is one of those experiences. With every step, the harbour unfolds behind you, the rooftops stretch towards the sea, and the ancient abbey grows ever closer. This artwork began with one of my own photographs before being transformed into the bold, colourful style of Layover & Lipstick. It captures not only one of Whitby's most recognisable landmarks, but also the feeling of reaching the top and knowing the climb was worth every step.
