My name is Damar Adi Wicaksono, an English education student from Indonesia who has a strong interest in language teaching, intercultural communication, and global educational experiences. Since the beginning of my academic journey, I have always been fascinated by how language can connect people from different backgrounds and cultures.
Studying English education has given me many opportunities to develop not only my language skills but also my understanding of how students learn and how teachers can create meaningful learning environments. I believe that teaching is not simply about delivering knowledge; it is about guiding students, encouraging curiosity, and helping them develop confidence in using what they learn.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy learning about different cultures, meeting new people, and exploring new places. These interests made the SEA Teacher program even more meaningful, as it allowed me to combine my passion for education with my curiosity about the world.
My decision to join the SEA Teacher Program came from my desire to experience education beyond my own country. I wanted to see how classrooms operate in other parts of Southeast Asia and learn from teachers and students who come from different cultural backgrounds. I believed that by immersing myself in another educational environment, I could gain new perspectives that would help me become a more adaptable and open-minded educator.
