The SEAL PrEP Study

The SEAL Study research team is funded by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA). We strive to address complex challenges in HIV prevention. With a focus on the Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) Care Continuum, we examine how alcohol misuse, gut health, and real-world decision-making impact PrEP adherence. In partnership with the Norton Research Institute, our multidisciplinary team brings together experts from medicine, public health, and social work. We aim to advance rigorous, person-centered research that contributes real-world improvements in HIV prevention best practices, such as Screening, Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment (SBIRT).
