Seaforth Children’s Garden Policies
At Seaforth Children’s Garden, our goal is to create a peaceful, nurturing rhythm for the children and families in our care. These policies are designed to support clear communication, consistency, and mutual respect within our community.
Registration & Payment
-Once your child is accepted into a session, full payment for the 6-week program is due within 5 days to confirm your space.
-Payment can be made by e-transfer (details provided upon acceptance).
-Fees are non-refundable, except in special circumstances or if the space can be filled from the waitlist.
-Returning families are given priority registration for subsequent sessions.
Attendance & Absences
-Regular attendance helps the children feel comfortable within our rhythm and community.
-If your child will be away, please send a quick message so we can adjust our plans for the day.
-Unfortunately, missed days are non-refundable or transferable, as expenses and staffing are planned in advance.
Illness & Wellness Policy
-The health and wellbeing of our community are very important.
-Please keep your child home if they are unwell — especially with fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious illness.
-Children should be symptom-free (without medication) for at least 24 hours before returning.
-If your child becomes ill during the day, we will contact you for pick-up.
Weather, Snow Days & Program Cancellations
-We spend time outdoors daily and dress for the weather, but in extreme conditions (heavy storms, unsafe travel, or significant illness), we may need to close for the day.
-If Seaforth Children’s Garden closes for any reason on our end, you will be offered a $25 refund or credit toward the next session.
-If you choose to keep your child home due to weather while the program remains open, that day will not be refunded.
Clothing & Outdoor Play
-We are a nature-immersed program and spend a great deal of time outside in all seasons.
-Please send children in comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that can get muddy, wet, or paint-stained. Layers, and natural fibers are ideal.
-Extra clothes, including socks and mittens, are essential in cooler months.
-We will provide a small list of recommended outerwear before each season begins.
Snacks & Food
-A nutritious, homemade snack and herbal tea are provided each day.
-Please inform us of any allergies or dietary restrictions at registration.
Communication
-We value open, warm communication with families.
-Updates about each session and seasonal plans will be shared by email.
-If concerns or questions arise, please reach out — we’re happy to connect.
Program Growth
As our community grows, we plan to welcome additional educators and expand offerings to include parent/tot programs, homeschool gatherings, and handwork circles. Families who join early sessions will have priority for these future programs.
