A Day in the Garden...
Each morning at Seaforth Children’s Garden follows a gentle rhythm that flows with the children’s natural energy and the beauty of the day. Our time together weaves play, creativity, and connection — guided by the seasons and the simple joys of daily life.
Opening Circle
We begin each morning by gathering together in song and verse, lighting a candle, and greeting one another. Our circle sets a tone of warmth and belonging, and helps the children feel grounded and ready to enter the day.
Free Play
Children are given the freedom to explore open-ended play, both indoors and out. Wooden toys, silks, blocks, and nature’s treasures invite imagination and cooperation to blossom. Please note that we do also offer plastic toys too, cars/trucks, Lego and magna-tiles included.
Handwork, Baking, or Art
Each day holds a creative offering — beeswax modeling, bread baking, watercolor painting, or simple handcrafts. These activities nurture patience, fine motor skills, and a sense of beauty in the work of their hands.
Snack Time
We share a nourishing, homemade snack together — often bread or muffins we’ve baked ourselves — with warm herbal tea. Meals are shared with gratitude, mindfulness, and candlelight.
Outdoor Play
Much of our time is spent outdoors, exploring the garden, fields, and seaside landscape. We tend to the plants, build forts, balance on logs, and feel the changing rhythm of the seasons.
Closing Circle
We gather once more before parting, singing songs of farewell and gratitude. The children leave with peaceful hearts and rosy cheeks, ready to carry the day’s wonder home.

Our Educational Approach
Seaforth Children’s Garden is rooted in Waldorf-inspired philosophy, nature immersion, and the rhythm of the seasons. We believe that young children learn best through imitation, imagination, and connection with the natural world. Our days follow a predictable rhythm that gives children a sense of safety and peace, while the changing seasons bring fresh wonder and discovery. Through song, story, handcrafts, and time outdoors, we nurture the whole child — head, heart, and hands — helping them grow in joy, confidence, and reverence for life.
