We are inviting you to bring a poster to the event showing your research to a non-academic audience, no matter what stage you are at within the research process. Whether you are at the start, beginning or end phase of your project, we want you to think outside the box – DO NOT BRING A TYPICAL ACADEMIC POSTER. If you are stuck for time, consider adapting an existing poster to the #BetterPoster designed by Mike Morrison (links to resources and templates below). Even better…just use infographics and pictures to convey a single key message about either your research purpose and/or your latest findings. People will likely look at your poster for <20 seconds, the aim is to convey 1-2 key messages quickly and encourage people to seek further information either by chatting to you or searching for further details online.
We aren’t being restrictive about the format, A0, A1 or A2 is fine.
Portrait or landscape.
No limit on font size (although we recommend using less text and larger font to engage the audience form 3-4m away).
We recommend using a QCR code to link to your paper or project website!
If you are stuck for time to re-design your research poster we recommend using one of the #BetterPoster designs below.
