Mrs. Mounteer's Bio

I am a May 2014 graduate with honors from UMKC with a B.A. in Languages & Literatures: French and a Communication Studies minor. I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in the eclectic Westside neighborhood near downtown Kansas City. I graduated high school from Lincoln College Preparatory Academy where I tutored students through the A+ Program. Initially, I pursued broadcast journalism in college, but my work as a UMKC tutor at Alta Vista Middle School influenced my decision to pursue a career in education. I would like to teach French and Spanish one day and I am fluent in both languages.

What is a Missouri College Advising Corps College Adviser?

An MCAC College Adviser is a college graduate who works in partner high schools across Missouri to help Missouri students go to college. As a college adviser, I will provide one-on-one advising, campus tours, campus representative visits, college planning workshops, financial aid assistance, and much more!
