OUR STORY
Seabolga was formed by Yuli Efriani on November 10, 2019. Yuli was born and raised in Sibolga, the smallest coastal city in Indonesia. Yuli loves the ocean and has lived with it since she was born. When Yuli was little, she often saw people throwing rubbish into the sea and Yuli felt that was normal because nobody tell her if isn't bad. As time goes by and the coastal girl grows, she realizes that the ocean is becoming dirtier and Yuli is confused, why isn't anyone trying to stop that?
When Yuli was in college, she take study Environmental Engineering at the University of Sumatra and gained more knowledge about what her hometown was actually experiencing, it's climate change and ocean pollution! So, in 2019 at a national summit called the Indonesia Youth Marine Debris Summit held by Divers Clean Action, Yuli presented his final project idea, namely Seabolga. Seabolga was built with the hope of engage local youth on the coast to prevent the impacts of climate change in their city, now or never!
