Welcome Admits!

Congratulations on your acceptance to UCLA! We’re so excited to welcome you to the 18th Annual Student Experience Weekend (SEW), hosted by the Southeast Asian Coalition!

We’re Emilee, Laura, and Phi, and we’re honored to serve as your 2026 SEW Chairs. It's truly a full circle moment for us as four years ago, we were in your shoes as new admits. Throughout our time here, we've stayed involved on staff, and now we have the opportunity to lead you down the start of your own journey. We hope you find a community that continues to uplift, empower, and remind Southeast Asian students that they belong in higher education. 

We want to give a huge thank you to our coordinators, family heads, facilitators, and volunteers. This weekend wouldn’t be possible without them. From countless emails to late-night meetings, everyone poured their heart into this program to make sure it’s thoughtfully prepared and seasoned with care. We’re so proud to finally share what we’ve been cooking up for you.

As you decide where you’ll begin your college journey this fall, SEW is here to help you digest the next steps. Our three-day, two-night program is packed with flavor: engaging workshops, an interactive People of Color Tour of the UCLA campus, and a special alumni dinner where you can connect with Bruins across different career paths. You’ll also be paired with our incredible family heads, who will mentor and guide you throughout the weekend.

We hope SEW gives you a taste of the warmth, resilience, and joy that our community brings. Whether UCLA ends up being your main course or just one stop along your journey, know that we are always rooting for you.
