PLANNING FOR TEACHING
Miss Khairunisa Al Hassani, also known as Umi Sani, my Cooperating Teacher at Al-Amjad. In planning her lesson, was always organized and anchored to the curriculum and basis her teaching strategies in Cambridge's Pearson's book. I noticed how she balanced textbook-based content with interactive exercises, making sure students were both guided and engaged. Observing her preparation taught me the value of thoughtful planning, not just writing what to teach, but anticipating how students will respond and how to adjust when needed.
PREPARING LESSON PLANS AND MATERIALS
My cooperating teacher, Umi Sani, makes sure every lesson is well-organized and aligned with the learning objectives. She prepares her lesson plans in advance, using the Cambridge Pearson book as the main guide, then adds her own activities to fit the students’ needs. Before each class, she checks the projector, prints student worksheets, and selects examples that make the topic more relatable. Her planning isn’t just about pages in a book, it’s about making sure the materials are interactive, clear, and ready for hands-on activities. Watching her taught me how important it is to be both systematic and flexible when preparing lessons.
TEACHING IN CLASS
In class, Umi Sani taught in a very organized and interactive way. She followed the Cambridge Pearson book as her main guide while using the projector to show lessons clearly. She explained concepts step by step, asked questions to keep students engaged, and used printed worksheets for hands-on activities. Her teaching felt calm but structured, she made sure every student understood before moving on, and she encouraged them to participate actively rather than just listen.
