Supervising exams at a junior high school, 7th Grade Cattleya, in the Philippines for two days was truly an eye-opening experience, especially in understanding cultural differences within the education system. I was quite surprised to learn that the exam period there was conducted over just two days, with four subjects tested each day. This was very different from my experience in Indonesia, where exams usually take longer and typically cover only one or two subjects per day.

At first, I felt worried seeing how packed their exam schedule was. I imagined how tired and stressed the students might be, having to face four subjects in a single day. However, what truly amazed me was how calm and orderly they were during the exams. There was no noise or visible anxiety in the classroom. The students sat quietly with strong focus and concentration, working on their exam papers as if they were already accustomed to such an intense routine.

Throughout the two days of supervision in 7th Grade Cattleya, I learned a great deal about how cultural differences can shape learning habits and attitudes toward academic challenges. Although the system was quite different from what I was used to in Indonesia, the Filipino students showed remarkable discipline and seriousness during the exams. I felt proud to witness their dedication firsthand and was inspired by their calmness and maturity in facing academic pressure.

This experience taught me that differences are not barriers to learning. Instead, diversity opens opportunities to gain new insights and broaden our perspectives. I will always remember these two meaningful days as an important part of my learning journey in the Philippines.

During my observation at the elementary school and in Estefania, I was deeply impressed by the learning environment. From the first day until the end of my stay, I was warmly welcomed by both students and teachers. I learned a great deal from how the learning process was carried out with strong discipline and mutual respect. What impressed me the most was the students’ high level of focus during lessons. They rarely engaged in distractions and always paid close attention to the teacher, showing a deep respect for education and the knowledge being shared.

In addition, the students demonstrated intelligence and strong curiosity. When given the opportunity to ask questions, they eagerly participated and showed a clear understanding of the material. Throughout my week-long stay in Estefania, I felt genuinely appreciated and supported by the positive learning environment. Witnessing the dedication of the teachers and the enthusiasm of the students was truly inspiring, and this experience will always remain one of the most meaningful moments in my journey as a future educator.

On January 30, 2026, I had the opportunity to teach Grade 7 – Polaris, an experience that will always hold a special place in my heart. That day, I felt a mixture of nervousness and excitement as I stepped into the classroom. However, the moment I saw the students’ bright and enthusiastic expressions, my confidence gradually grew. Teaching them became a truly memorable experience. The Grade 7 Polaris students showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the lesson. They listened attentively, followed each explanation with focus, and actively participated during the class activities.

One of the most meaningful moments was seeing the students confidently respond to questions and share their thoughts. Their willingness to participate and express ideas reflected how much they valued the learning process. I felt proud witnessing their dedication and positive attitude toward learning. Teaching Grade 7 Polaris not only strengthened my passion for education but also motivated me to continue developing myself as a future educator.

This experience will always remain one of the most valuable moments in my teaching journey. I am deeply grateful to the wonderful students of Grade 7 – Polaris for their enthusiasm and cooperation. Being able to share knowledge and learn together with them was truly a blessing, and I hope the lessons and experiences we shared will be meaningful for their future.
