The Society of Physics Students exists to encourage and assist students interested in physics to develop the knowledge, competence, enthusiasm, and social responsibility that are essential to the advancement of physics. We strive to stimulate interest in advance study and research in physics, develop collegiality among physics students and faculty members, and promote public interest in physics. We also provide liaison between students and the member societies of the American Institute of Physics.
We host both academic and social events such as study sessions, REU/graduate School workshops, and game/karaoke nights. Check out our calendar and Instagram @sps.sdsu for upcoming events, trips, and more!

Everyone deserves to have an academic community that supports, uplifts, and celebrates diversity. SPS actively strives to create a positive space for historically underrepresented groups including LGBTQ+ and BIPOC. Linked is the SDSU Physics Department's statement in support of Black Lives Matter.
