The Society of Physics Students is an organization aimed at supporting undergraduates studying or with an interest in physics. We offer a welcoming study environment and create community among physics lovers. We host academic and professional events like REU and graduate school application workshops, industry info sessions, and study nights as well as hosting fun events like game nights, and more. Check out our calendar and instagram @sps.sdsu for upcoming events!
Hello everyone! I am currently double majoring in Physics specializing in Modern Optics and Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience at SDSU. I was the President of Women in Physics at SDSU 2023-2024 and I was happy to be elected to this exciting new position!
I am an undergraduate researcher for the Behura Research Lab and a Cal-Bridge Scholar. I am working on engineering defects and analyzing CVD-grown hexagonal boron nitride as part of a greater study of the photonics of quantum materials .
After graduation, I plan to pursue a Ph.D. and perform research that applies the methodology and mathematical analysis of physics to the field of neuroscience. I want to become a PI of my own lab and mentor the next generation of underrepresented scientists.
Hello hello! I am Jessica Doan, a third-year pursuing an Astronomy B.S. and the current Vice President of SPS and the Schwartz Astronomical Society. My academic interests are particle astrophysics and cosmic evolution. Don't worry, I also like things outside of space, like video games and cooking. Please don't hesitate to reach out to chat or for general advice.
My senior thesis explores the importance of cosmic inflation on the standard model of cosmology.
Hi! I'm Kenzie Talbott, a fourth-year Astronomy student and the Secretary of SPS. My academic interests honestly change all the time but recently I have been interested in all things quantum physics. Outside of academics, I am a yoga sculpt instructor at YogaBox and love to go to the beach, watch superhero movies, and go on hikes (when I find the time). I love to chat so please reach out if you need anything!
Hi everyone, I'm Ossiel but you can call me Ozzy. Currently on my last semester in SDSU's Undergraduate Physics program. I'm doing undergraduate research in the SDSU Behura Research Lab.
