About :

Hsin-Wei Hsu is an Assistant Professor in Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT). He received the Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management from Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2011. His currently work focuses specifically on food supply chain and logistics, food waste, energy poilcy, and sustainable management and decision. Before the current position, he served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, at Chung Yuan Christian University and the Division of Food Industrial Management, Department of Food Science, at Tunghai University for more than 2 years separately. Besides, he served as a project manager as well as the team leader, who was the principal investigator of projects in Green Energy & Environment Research Laboratories, Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Hsinchu, Taiwan. Therefore, with 5 years’ effort in ITRI, he is familiar with the core issues of energy, green industry and sustainable development areas. Furthermore, he completed the mission of visiting abroad several times, and participate in APEC Workshop on Best Practices on Financing Renewable Energy in Vietnam on behalf of Taiwan.

His research interests include soft computing, evolutionary computation, optimization theory, and their applications in decision on energy policy, food industry, logistics (related to the food or green issues), decision making, and the issues of uncertainty. Mr. Hsu was awarded many different kinds of Paper and Thesis Awards including the Best Oral Presentation from 2022 3rd International Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering (ICPEE 2022), Best Paper from 2018 Symposium on Sustainable Products and Industrial Management, the Best Doctoral Dissertation Awards from Chinese Management Association and Operations Research Society of Taiwan (ORSTW) and Chinese Institute of Decision Sciences (CID), the Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award from TOPCO Scientific, the Best Student Paper Award from International Association for Information and Management Science. In addition, the number of citations for his publications is 336 counted by Scopus Database until now.
