Blythe Barton is Professor of Dance at Mesa College and danced professionally with both San Diego Dance Theater (2010-2018) and Malashock Dance (2009-2017). Her acclaimed company, Blythe Barton Dance, was created in 2010 and continues to present work throughout Southern California. Blythe was a founding member of San Diego Dance Connect and the 40 North Dance Film Festival. She currently serves as EXSC Dance Chair Liaison and coordinates the New Faculty Institute at Mesa. Audrey Bondoc is a native San Diegan and Mesa College Dance alumni. A former dancer with Unity Dance Ensemble and a graduate from San Francisco State University. She teaches Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary and Pilates to all ages. Her students are currently dancing in the industry and have been accepted into collegiate and professional dance programs.
Jill discovered her love for dance at four years old and has been devoted to the art ever since. Trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Musical Theater, Choreography, and Composition, she earned her BFA in Modern Dance from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. After moving to San Diego, she taught Ballroom and competitive partner dancing at Arthur Murray, deepening her belief that movement should be accessible and confidence‑building. Jill is certified in Personal Training, Barre, Pilates, Yoga, and Social Emotional Learning, and her teaching experience spans private lessons, studio ownership, and leading large high school classes. She prioritizes the connection between physical technique and emotional growth in every class.
Jazmyn Brown discovered her love for Hip Hop Dance in 2004 when she joined the youth performance troupe, Future Shock San Diego. During her 15 years with the Culture Shock family, she had the opportunity to train under industry favorites like Rynan Paguio, Keone Madrid, and Sherman Shoate. In 2016 she achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Colorado Mesa University. Jazmyn currently teaches Hip Hop Dance at Mesa College and Grossmont College.
Donna Flournoy is currently Associate Professor/Co-Chair of the San Diego Mesa College Dance Department. Donna has extensive training and dance experience as a professional Dancer, Choreographer, and Dance Educator. She has taught and choreographed at numerous dance studios for over twenty years. Donna has a great passion for the arts and loves sharing her passion for dance movement with all her students. Karla Parra grew up loving dance and learning how to dance from family members and summer school dance teachers in her early years. She resumed her dance training in high school and then continued her dance education when transferring to UCSD. Karla graduated from UCSD with a major in General Biology and a minor in dance. Karla has continued to be involved in different dance communities since then, including San Diego Mesa College’s dance department and other groups which she has been a part of for short engagements. Lastly, throughout her life, Mexican Folklorico is a dance genre that has always been close to her heart and a style that she has practiced since she was a child. Her love for Mexican Folklorico and showcasing her culture through dance is something she wants to share with those around her interested in immersing themselves in this fascinating world.

Jessica Rabanzo-Flores is a performing artist, dance educator and choreographer, native to San Diego. She is an NASM certified trauma-informed personal trainer and founded her own dance-inspired fitness method Untitled Movement in January 2019 in New York City. She currently trains clients (both virtual and in-person) and teaches at San Diego Dance Theater. Jessica is also a company dancer for Malashock Dance, and has been commissioned to create work on the company. She has presented work in New York City and most recently has staged work at the San Diego School of the Creative and Performing Arts. BAs in Sociology and Dance from UC Irvine.
Khamla Somphanh is a nationally recognized teaching artist, educator, dance maker, and mover. She attained her Certification in Theory and Practice of Horton Pedagogy from The Alvin Ailey School in NYC, received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Saint Mary’s College of California, and graduated from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. Khamla currently serves as faculty at San Diego Dance Theater, Mounarath-Powell Dance and adjunct lecturer at San Diego State University School of Music and Dance. Additionally, Khamla holds the position of Arts Coordinator at the Pacific View Arts Center.
