NAACP Youth & College

The mission of the NAACP Youth & College Division is to inform youth of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities; to advance the economic, education, social and political status of African Americans; to stimulate an appreciation of the African Diaspora; and to develop an intelligent, effective youth leadership.

f.a.n.c.y./ Detour empowers

DETOUR is a mentoring program for girls of color. Through leadership programs expos, and internships, they provide a positive forum for girls to become actively engaged in working towards acquiring the skills necessary to become what they aspire to be and to achieve their dreams. DETOUR's ultimate vision is to see equity and inclusion for teen girls of color in higher education and priority sector employment.

Reality CHangers

Headquartered in City Heights, Reality Changers has developed a nationally-recognized, three-stage college access program that provides academic support, financial assistance, and leadership training for high-potential, inner city youth. Reality Changers' vision is to create universal access to college, one community at a time.

gender phluid collective

The Gender Phluid Collective is a collective movement of entities working together to dismantle the narratives of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and all other prejudices towards gender identity and sexual orientation. The GPC brings visibility to the intersectional identities of race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion by providing programs and support services that create and promote inclusivity in our community.

The Afrikan Student union exists to provide a unified body of Afrikan students on campus in order to aid in satisfying the academic, financial, social, educational, and cultural need of the Afrikan Students attending San Diego State University.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority's aim is to enhance the quality of life within the community. Public service, leadership development and education of youth are the hallmark of the organization's programs and activities. Sigma Gamma Rho addresses concerns that impact society educationally, civically, and economically.

Movement BE is a non-profit organization founded to help change the narrative of underserved communities and give students the confidence to determine their own destiny through creative storytelling and public speaking. They host socio-emotional workshops in collaboration with school districts and youth organizations that provide youth with a safe and empowering outlet to tell their stories.

March For Black Womxn San Diego

March for Black Womxn San Diego is an organization dedicated to advocacy for and by Black women. Through community symposiums and public marches, M4BWSD is making waves within the Black community with Black girls and women at the forefront of a mighty movement.

Black Student Science Organization

The mission of the Black Student Science Organization (BSSO) is twofold. The primary purpose of the organization is to provide academic and social support to the African American students San Diego State University. Their secondary purpose is to reach out and serve the neighboring communities of the University through career interest fairs and achievement ceremonies.
