In our silver studio, members make silver pendants, rings, and other decorative items. The process consists of five steps:
Pattern Creation: A wax pattern of the desired component is sculpted or molded.
Investment: The wax pattern is encased in a refractory material which creates a mold.
Burnout: Heat is applied to melt and remove the wax which leaves a hollow cavity.
Casting: Molten metal is poured into the cavity filling the mold.
Final Component: The mold is broken unveiling the finished metal component.
