Academics during the Long-Term Dismissal

Lesson Planning for Long-Term Dismissal

Teachers will be posting lesson plans and activities on Sunday Evenings on Class Dojo.

Lessons will be standard aligned.

Differentiated Instructions

Some teachers will provide learning choices to meet the standards.

Teachers will continue to work with students in the “Viking Success” program to provide targeted instruction based on work and Freckle data.

Ms. Jimenez will be able to provide targeted instruction in primary grades to provide small learning groups.

Options and choices in learning are provided.

Zoom Calls

Teachers will be sharing their zoom call schedule on Class Dojo and it will be posted in the Monday newsletter. Zoom Calls will be implemented for the following:

  • Teacher Check in

  • Teacher Read Aloud

  • Standard Based Question & Exit Ticket

  • Discussion

  • Small Groups

  • Direct Instruction & tutoring time

  1. Thumb Rating (Thumbs up or down for yes or no question)

  1. Mute your mics when you enter a call.

  2. Be an active listener. (Do not touch buttons on the zoom feature, refrain from eating, be fully dressed, & be kind.)

  1. Raise your hand and wait for the teacher to call on you.


St. Catherine’s Minimum Daily Guidelines:

K-1st Grade


  • ELA 30 minutes

  • Math 30 minutes

  • Religion 20 minutes

  • Science/Social Studies 20 minutes

2nd-4th Grade


  • ELA 40-60 minutes

  • Math 40-60 minutes

  • Social Studies/Science 30 minutes

  • Religion 30 minutes

5th-8th Grade


  • ELA 60 minutes

  • Math 60 minutes

  • Social Studies 30 minutes

  • Science 30 minutes

  • Religion 30 minutes

Attendance “at school”:

St. Catherine of Siena School teachers will be posting an Attendance Check in daily on Class Dojo. Simply “like” the post by 10:00 AM to let us know your child is present and learning. Teachers will reach out if families have not responded to confirm that the child is “out” for the day.
