This aim of this project is to develop frameworks and processes which can provide motivational and structured processes for musical composition in a classroom setting.
Using a picture storybook as a stimulus we can create compositional frameworks
Firstly we dramatise, visualise and imagine the settings and events of each page. We transfer these explorations to movement and emotions which then give us a strong framework for composition.
On this website we are using the picture storybook by Mark Wilson titled 'Migaloo, The White Whale' This book can help us to start writing music right now.
This is a true story about a very rare white whale named Migaloo.
Migaloo was born in the warm waters off the Queensland coast.
Every year, she travels from Antarctica to Queensland.
The journey is filled with many dangers and adventures.
Evolving Process
As new ideas and strategies are trialled in classrooms, the results will be added to this page.
