The Family Tree Detective
I dig through dusty records and faded photographs,
Chasing ancestors down twisted family paths.
Great-great-grandpa was a rogue, or so the stories say,
While Granny's maiden name keeps slipping away.
Birth certificates lie in boxes, marriage licenses hide,
Census records play peek-a-boo what a ride!
I've found a horse thief here, a preacher over there,
And discovered that my roots grow everywhere.
So I'll keep on searching through the family lore,
Each new discovery makes me crave just one name more.
For every branch I find upon my growing tree
Reveals another mystery - who could these people be?
