“The patrol system is not one method in which Scouting can be carried on. It is the only method.” —Lord Baden-Powell, Scouting’s founder
A Scout patrol is a small team of normally six to eight members where Scouts learn skills together, share responsibilities and take on leadership roles. As a member of a patrol, youth are given opportunities that are difficult to find anywhere else. Experienced scouts teach younger scouts basic skills, while honing their own leadership skills in the process. Being in a patrol allows scouts to learn to rely on themselves and other members of the patrol in order to satisfy objectives, learning many valuable life skills in the process.
There are also several troop leadership positions available for youth to further develop their leadership skills and fulfill rank advancement requirements. Many of our scouts have taken National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) in preparation for taking on the additional responsibility of troop leadership roles.
Our troop leadership positions include:
Senior Patrol Leader
Assistant Senior Patrol Leader
Quartermaster
Scribe
Chaplain's Aide
Historian
Webmaster
Librarian
Order of the Arrow Representative
Den Chief
