Submission for recognition for Senior Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (SCMALT)
I have tagged the four core CMALT Principles and Values in the following manner:
● (PV1) - A commitment to exploring and understanding the interplay between technology and learning
● (PV2) - A commitment to keep up to date with new technologies
● (PV3) - An empathy with and willingness to learn from colleagues from different backgrounds and specialist areas
● (PV4) - A commitment to communicate and disseminate effective practice
I have added these tags to the text of the portfolio to indicate where the relevant principle or value has been demonstrated. I have borrowed this approach from my SFHEA application, which I used to indicate alignment with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF).
The Senior CMALT guidelines place clear emphasis on how crucial critical reflection is for the analysis of effectiveness, impact, and practice development. Alongside the five reflective questions suggested in the guidelines, I have also drawn upon ‘Kolb’s Reflective Cycle’ and ‘Gibbs’ Reflective Cycle’ as models and, recognising their weaknesses with respect to depth, have purposely compensated accordingly.
Consequently, the narrative format of the reflective analysis varies from section to section, adopting a form I feel is best suited to the phenomenon described. Where possible, I have grouped my reflections by theme to create a coherent whole.
