What Is Ultraviolet ?
Ultraviolet is a form of electromagnetic radiation with shorter wavelengths than visible light but longer than that of X-rays. It falls within the category of electromagnetic radiation, which has wavelengths ranging from 10 to 400 nanometers (nm).
How UV Radiation Impacts Human Health ?
UV Radiation’s Effect on DNA
DNA >>> Deoxyribonucleic Acid. Molecule that transmits genetic information in living organisms
UVB light can be absorb by DNA.
It cause two thymine bases that are next to each other abnormally merge (thymine dimers).
Its distort the DNA and interfere with the regular reading and copying of genetic data.
It can be lead to mutations if not repaired.
