What is Science and Religion?
Science is the systematic study of the natural world through observation, experimentation, and logical reasoning. It aims to explain phenomena by developing theories and laws based on empirical evidence.
Religion is a system of beliefs, practices, and moral principles often centered around the worship of a higher power or deity. It typically includes sacred texts, rituals, and a shared community of believers, addressing questions about existence, purpose, and the afterlife.
Difference Between Science and Religion
Misconception of Science and Religion
"Science and religion are always in conflict."
Clarification:
Yes, they’ve disagreed before (like in Galileo’s time), but many scientists have strong religious beliefs. The fight usually comes from extreme ideas, not the heart of science or religion.
"Science explains everything, so we don't need religion."
Clarification:
Science tells us how things happen. Religion helps us ask why they are important. For example, science can tell us how the brain works, but religion can ask what it means to have a soul or purpose.
"Religion is against progress and science is always right."
Clarification:
Many religions helped science grow (like during the Islamic Golden Age). Science is strong because it changes when new things are discovered. It’s not always right, but it learns and improves.

Common Goals of Religion and Science
Science uses tools, experiments, and observation to study how things work like the stars, planets, and human body. Religion, on the other hand, looks for the meaning and purpose behind life and the universe. While science asks “how?”, religion asks “why?”
Science has given us medicine, technology, and clean water. Religion teaches us about love, hope, and helping others. Together, they support both our physical and emotional well-being.
Science helps us think about what is right or wrong when we use new inventions like AI or genetic editing. Religion gives us moral values like honesty, kindness, and respect for others.
