Program Overview:
a. Program the cat to move in 4 directions.
b. Program the cat to animate itself between two different looks so it looks like it is walking. Experiment with some other looks for the cat and save the project.
c. Create a sprite that spins with different colors and program it to spin when the cat touches it.
d. Get a sprite form the library that has two costumes and have it alternate between the two costumes when the cat touches it. After that sprite is done, have tow more sprites that do different things when the cat touch those sprites. You should have four different sprites that do different things when the cat touches them.

A “green screen video” is a type of quick edit video which utilizes specialized software to chroma key composite two or more digital images together. Green screen videos can include static/still images in the background or foreground, and/or video clips. Weather segments on television are a common use situation for green screen videos. Green screen videos allow subjects to “magically transport” themselves to a variety of locations and potentially “report live” from exotic places.

Plan: Make a storyboard to plan the introduction, main points, and conclusion of your video (just like a written paragraph or essay). Plan what actors/actresses will say AND the desired background.
2. Photos: Take or find and save images to use as background photos. Save each photo to your Google Drive.

MorgueFile.com has excellent FREE photos (student/class-friendly)
3. Record Clips: Use the regular camera app on a mobile device or Chromebook to record videos of participants talking in front of a well-lit green screen.
GREEN SCREEN IDEAS
Use a LIME GREEN shower curtain.
Use BRIGHT GREEN butcher paper as a green screen.
4. Green Screen Effects: Use tutorial with WeVideo on your Chromebook to add background images and/or videos for each scene. Save to your Google Drive

Plan: Students will work in teams to come up with a moving using Legos. They need to sketch out their story using the storyboard. They will also need to figure out what props they can make or bring from home. Students can also bring Legos from home. Only a small amount are actually needed for this project.
Help Students by showing some of these examples:
Also, work with students to brainstorm some ideas for their story:
Bank Heist, Flying High, Justice Served, The Chase, The Showdown, Victory, Secret Hideout, etc.
2. Film: Have students set up their scenes. The more simple the set the easier it is to work with. Show students how to set up their Chromebook to take a picture. Then move the figure a tiny bit, take another picture, move it, take a picture, and keep repeating this process. They will need to use the Stop Motion Animator Chrome App to do this.

Suggestions for Filming:
-Props: Cover some canvas boards and old chalk boards with modeling clay. Spread a thin layer on the board so that when students set up their mini figures, they wouldn't fall over. This worked really well since we did not have enough big peg boards for each group.
-Backdrops: Black paper as the backdrop. In most of the videos online, it suggests using black backdrops as opposed to white ones because of bad shadows that are created with white backgrounds. I taped paper up around the room, and encouraged students to make sure that the black paper was the only thing in the background. Many videos show part of the classroom in the corner of the movie, and it is distracting and hard to crop out, the app doesn't let you crop the pictures.
-White Cotton/Fishing Line: White cotton for smoke, fishing line for 'flying' and clear straws to help keep hands out of the shot. We went through a lot of fishing line and tape, but once I suggested those supplies, most students could envision how to implement it into their movie without my help.
