From religion comes a man's purpose; from science, his power to achieve it. Sometimes people ask if religion and science are not opposed to one another. They are: in the sense that the thumb and fingers of my hand are opposed to one another. It is an opposition by means of which anything can be grasped.
Richard Dawkins is a British evolutionary biologist and perhaps one of the most famous atheists. Richard is a prominent scientist, having published bestselling books on genetics and evolution, including The Selfish Gene (1976), The Blind Watchmaker (1986) — with the latter winning a number of awards. He set up the Richard Dawkins Foundation in 2006 to promote the cause of removing religion from science.
John Lennox is a Northern Irish mathematician, bioethicist, and Christian Apologist. He has written many books on religion, ethics, the relationship between science and faith, and has had public debates with atheists including Richard Dawkins and Christopher Hitchens.
