November 6:
Deadline for official program commitment. If you agree to be a mentor at this point and are later unable to continue (for any reason other than medical emergency), you will need to help find a replacement mentor.
Week of November 13: Digital Visit 1
Receive your pod assignments.
Make contact with and “meet” the high school students in your pod via email (or, optionally, Skype/Google Hangouts).
Help students explore project topics.
Support the students in developing a scientific question and hypotheses.
Week of November 20: Digital Visit 2
Help students formulate scientific question and hypotheses.
Help students design experimental set-ups to answer their scientific question.
Week of November 27: Digital Visit 3
Support students developing materials and methods and gather materials for experiment.
Help students begin experiments.
January 15: In-Person Visit 1(3:30-5:00 pm)
Help students conduct experiments and begin data analysis.
