Students in BIOL 201 can incorporate their participation in Science Fair Mentorship into their BIOL 201 grade via the Community Service Learning program.

General information
CSL activities will account for up to 5% of your final BIOL 201 grade, making the rest of your course grade worth 95%.
Of that 5%,
- 80% is active participation in course activities.
- 20% is reflection and feedback.
Active Participation
Active Participation
Participation will be assessed based on 7 categories:
- Attendance & timeliness
- Preparedness
- Conduct within the Pod
- Enthusiasm
- Leadership within the Pod
- Teaching & feedback
- Promotion of the scientific method.
BIOL 201 students will be assessed based on feedback from other graduate students in the BIOL 201 student's pod and the mentorship coordinator.

Reflection Essay:
- Maximum 750-1000 words (independently written)
- Paragraph form that addresses each of the questions:
- Why did you sign up?
- What did you hope to gain?
- What did you teach (specific projects)?
- What did you learn (about science, public outreach and yourself)?
- What did THEY learn?
- Due by 4 pm on February 27, 2019 to Cora Skaien at cora.skaien@ubc.ca.
