About Me

Hello, my name is Mrs. Muñoz-Brueckmann and I am School Mental Health Professional, also known as Safe School Professional for Desert Rose Adult High School. This is my third year at Desert Rose and my 7th year in this position at schools within Clark County School District. I am licensed by the State of Nevada Department of Education as School Mental Health Professional (LSMHC) since March, 2020.

I am originally from Lima, Peru living in the USA since 1978 living and practicing in the state of California and Nevada. I am trilingual especially English and Spanish speaking. I brought from Lima, Peru my Bachelors Degree in Psychology (BS) and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology (MS.) In the USA I enriched academically obtaining in 2002 my second Master’s Degree as Educational Counselor (MEdC) serving in California and Nevada since 2000 to 2012 at middle and high schools within the district. In 2011 obtained a third Master Degree in Counseling Psychology with Specialization as Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). This is my 10^th year practicing as a Marriage Family Therapist (MFT), I took extra coursework and became in 2011 a Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC), and in 2012 seeing the need of bilingual specialist on substance abuse and addictions and obtained the Nevada Licensed as Clinical Drug and Alcohol Counselor (LCDAC) for the State of Nevada.

As my second job, I will continue during the year working privately and at a community-based agency in town serving the community by referrals.

Trained both as educator and therapist, I address the same framework to problems with the Social-Emotional and Behavioral competencies. At this time we will be using in person at the school and distance when needed with Tele-Health Therapy individually and in clinical groups Through Google Meet, Google Hangouts, Google Classroom student groups, guardian and/or parents to help the student and their families arising the problems from Covid-19, trauma, gender identity, suicide, bullying, discrimination, anxiety, depression and other mental health issues, grief, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism, addictions, behavior, what divorce entitles that affect the student during separation, custody battles, and divorce itself, immigration concerns such as unaccompanied status, refugee, asylum, English Language Learners, school related developmental learning, behavioral issues, all aspects of interpersonal relationships, and more, helping and looking for solutions.

It is my duty to help the students and families in-person and in different platforms at the same time supporting not clinical work to fulfill the needs of the students, families and school staff providing resources referrals, and refer directly to the Wraparound Services Department for more in-depth services when needed.

My family consists of my two adult children ages 28 and 30 who graduated from a CCSD high school in town who are professionals in the country. I have two wonderful grandchildren ages 9 and 7 years old, far away but very close communicating via google meet or zoom and we have great times together. I enjoy helping people, doing yoga and meditation, and I am Spiritual. I love to travel every year overseas during the summer like Greece, Italy, France, Portugal, Africa, and Latin-American countries which I enjoy tremendously.

Hola, mi nombre es Sra. Muñoz-Brueckmann y soy la Escuela Profesional de salud mental, también conocido como Safe School Professional para Escuela secundaria Desert Rose y Escuela secundaria para adultos. Este es mi segundo año en Desert Rose y mi sexto año en este puesto en las escuelas del condado de ClarkDistrito escolar.

Tengo licencia de la Junta Examinadora del Estado de Nevada para Terapeutas matrimoniales y familiares, consejeros clínicos profesionales y Junta Examinadora de Nevada para Consejeros de Drogas, Alcohol y Apuestas. yo he estado en la práctica clínica desde 1978 cuando vine de Lima, Perú en diferentes agencias de salud mental basadas en la comunidad.

Mi experiencia incluye Trabajará todas las edades con ansiedad, depresión, comportamiento, autismo, sustancias abuso,relaciones, trauma, abuso infantil, violencia doméstica, violencia de pareja, identidad de genero, acoso, autoestima, estrés, aculturación, problemas de aprendizaje, trastornos de personalidad, adiciones, y otros trastornos de salud emocional y mental. Mi trabajo es individual adolescentes, parejas y familias. Creo la importancia de incorporar la familia y / o tutor como su sistema de apoyo durante la clínica servicios brindados a estudiantes de todas las edades dentro de la escuela y cuando sea necesario trabajará con su sistema de apoyo dentro de la escuela, como maestros, entrenadores y otros miembros del personal con el acuerdo del estudiante.

Como mi segundo trabajo, continuare durante el año trabajando en una agencia comunitaria en la ciudad. sirviendo por referencias. En mi querido país Perú recibí mi Licenciatura en Psicología (BS) y mi Maestría en Psicología Clínica (MS.) En los EE. UU. obtuve en 2002 mi segunda maestría como consejera educativa y en 2009 obtuve unaMaestría en Psicología de la Consejería con Especialización como Terapeuta Matrimonial y Familiar. Este es mi noveno año como terapeuta familiar y matrimonial, Consejero Clínico Profesional, Licenciada como consejera clinica en Alcohol y Drogas. Por último, fui Consejero Educativo desde 2002 a 2010 para escuelas intermedias y secundarias en el CCSD.

Mi familia está formada por mis dos hijos adultos de 28 y 30 años que se graduaron de una escuela secundaria del CCSD en la ciudad. Tengo dos maravillosos nietos de edades 8 y 6 años, lejos pero muy cerca comunicándose vía google meet o zoom y lo pasamos muy bien juntos. Disfruto ayudando a las personas haciendo yoga y meditación, entretener a mi familia y amigos cuando me visitan en la ciudad y disfruto viajando para visitarlos a ellos también. Me encanta viajar al extranjero durante el verano. como Grecia, Italia, Francia, Portugal, África y los países de América Latina que disfruto tremendamente
