Dance is a living art for everyone to experience and enjoy. We offer classes for all ages and skill levels. Our goal is to encourage self-confidence, creativity, and community-building through dance. We believe that dance is for everyone.

Miss Leah grew up with a passion for dancing. It started when she was young as she looked up to her four sisters, who were all dancers. She considered the dance studio to be her second home. She studied several forms of dance, including jazz, acrobatics, ballet, tap, and hip hop. She also competed for seven years in a variety of styles. Once she began assisting in classes, she realized her love for teaching dance and choreographing. She continued dancing in college and went on to become the President of Cazenovia College Dance Club. She helped coordinate and choreograph for four college recitals. Miss Leah's favorite dance styles are contemporary, jazz, and acrobatics. Her favorite time of the year is recital time.
If you can't stop thinking about it, don't stop working for it.
The Studio
The Studio
In 2014, Miss Leah and two of her sisters, Jessie and Laura, created Schmitt Sisters Dance. The sisters began their journey of teaching dance together in a community center in Poolville, NY. Then they moved to Sherburne, NY.
When the sisters were young, they helped their mother clean their dance studio to help pay for the cost of dance and costumes. When their childhood studio closed, it left a hole in the community. Part of their goal now is to continue to make dance available for the community and surrounding areas. Dancing is a great mood-booster and self-confidence builder. At Schmitt Sisters Dance, they hope that all students and supporters feel a sense of community at the studio.
As of 2023, SSD has transformed into SCHMITT DANCE STUDIO (SDS). The name has changed ever so slightly, and the studio moved to new location in Earlville, NY. This has brought on new opportunities for our studio! Along with these changes, you will see Miss Kayla helping around at the studio. We appreciate all of our dance families, new and returning, for dancing with us!

Schmitt Sisters Dance Closed Group
This Facebook group is a private space for our current students, parents, and guardians to share photos and videos. It also allows the studio to provide more details regarding the season.
