Schaghticoke Vision Statement

Schaghticoke Middle School is made up of a community of learners: students, parents, faculty, staff, administration, and citizens of the greater New Milford area. The foundation of our vision lies upon the positive reinforcement of character: integrity, responsibility, respect, and fairness. 


Together we will work to create an environment in which all students can reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally under the guidance and nurturing support of the Schaghticoke community members. We will collaborate to foster an atmosphere of trust and support in order to encourage teachers and students to explore new initiatives in curriculum and assessment to improve student achievement.

Norwalk Public Schools is . . . 

The most successful city school system in Connecticut. 

Norwalk students as a whole exceed state average achievement while high need students have the smallest achievement gap. Students’ needs and interests are met through a wide range of school and program choices that promote diversity and broaden achievement. All students are taught by exemplary educators in nurturing, safe, and attractive schools.  Students read on grade level by end of grade 3 and leave 8th grade equipped to do rigorous high school work and graduate from high school college and career ready. 

Stamford Public School District

Stamford Public Schools (SPS) comprises nearly 16,000 students, over 1,500 professionals, and 21 schools, including seven magnet schools and three International Baccalaureate sites. SPS has a total of 13 elementary schools, five middle schools and three high schools. SPS is proud that our district is as rich in diversity as it is in talent. We have students from many cultural backgrounds and geographic locations—as demonstrated by the more than 65 different languages spoken in the homes of our families.  SPS offers our students a learning experience rich in cultural diversity and reflective of the global society in which they will work and live.

Greenwich Academy

Greenwich Academy is an independent college-preparatory day school for girls and young women that seeks to foster excellence.   • Each member of the group should research at least one school listed below to divide the task equally. All school districts should be represented below when this assignment is completed.

Step 2: What should be in your Vision Statement for SMS 2.0?

  • Identify key terms or phrases that stand out in each example.

Step 3: Write a Draft of your SMS 2.0 Vision Statement

  • Write 3 DIFFERENT drafts of a new SMS 2.0 Vision Statement.  These will be shared with others in the class for peer review.
