Note: You can portray a character with real life health issues!
Warning: This page contains a single image of body horror (for crystal curse) and mentions of death from medical issues and pain from illness.
Even in this world, illness can spread throughout the population. Some can be treated and cured, others life long.
Genetic Illness
Thunderblight
Thunderblight was once thought to develop from using too much magic in one day, but that is just old wives tales.
Instead, those who develop this illness have a genetic disposistion for it to show up (though some are just carriers). Symptoms are:
Weaker magic (+2 Indepentdant magic images)
More prone to seizures
Physical weakness after episode
Heart palpatations
Fainting
Rarely, death
If a scarfit of any species develops Thunderblight they should not swim or bathe and instead take showers, and to seek medical attention as medication is needed to help mitigate symptoms. Those with Thunderblight will need to stay in a place of medical care if they were to fluffbud, so that the doctors can help keep the developing fuzzgem alive.
Albanisism
Albino scarfits are a very light color based on one of their parents base color, and can be born with a shirt/collar of a random color. It is unknown why their shirt color is like this, but one hypothesis is that the gene mutation that causes the light skin also affects how the formation of the shirt happens. A teni may grow out of this once grown.
This mutation can be harmful, causing issues such as:
Weak immune system
Sensitivity to light (Easily sunburned, migrains in bright light, rarely seizures.)
Physical weakness
Inability to gain magic quirks from parents.
Harder time learning magic (+2 Idipentdant magic images)
A harder time when fluff budding. (Amplification of light sensitivity, disgestive issues, longer bud releasal or inhability to release fuzzgem once gem is fully formed.)
It is reccomened that if a scarfit with albanism wants to have kids that they stay in a place of medical care halfway through to mitigate any issues that crop up. If they are not looking to have kids but wish to "do the do" they are required to take prevenative meds.

Contracted Illness
Crystal Pox
Crystal Pox is a safe disease that is a lot like chicken pox, but instead of little bumps, little crystals form on top of the skin. These crystal patches are very itchy, but scratching them is a grave mistake, as doing so can not only expose a scarfit to infection, but will also cause the patches of crystals to spread.
Crystal pox is infectious, but once infection is gone, the scarfit in question can't get sick again.
and luckily, unlike chickenpox, it doesn't turn into something worse later in life.
Frost Cough
This is basically like the common cold, but actually cold! When the scarfit coughs (or sneezes), the moisture from their throat will come out as snowflakes. Don't let this cute side effect trick you though, these snowflakes will spread like wildfire if allowed to!
If a scarfit gets sick with Frost Cough, they must wear a mask, rest and eat warm foods like byrelk soup to get better!
Fae's growth
This illness is contracted through contact with a seedling bunflower, eating bunflower seeds, or through contact with an infected scarfit's bodyfluids (even a sneeze counts)
Fae's growth is completely safe to have! No symptoms seem to appear from having this illness, and it seems to not infect those who don't want it. If you DO develop fae's growth and no longer want it, it can be safely removed with oils and creams.
Frowgywarts
Frowgywarts seem to only infect Floatra, and cause hard lumps to grow over the skin. THese lumps are painful, and if touched by another floatra will infect said floatra. The pain caused by these lumps weakens magic causing headaches in the infected.
This is curable, however it requires a mix of surgery and medical creams to get rid of it.
Crystal Curse
The cause of crystal curse is unknown, and seems to infect others at random. When someone develops Crystal Curse, hard crystals grow throughout their body, causing pain and discomfort.
This disease isn't curable, but overgrowth can be removed through surgery and pain meds can help with the aches.
